PUPPY PROGRAM

DESCRIPTION:    Derry Road Animal Hospital's puppy program helps get your new family member started out on the right foot.  There is more to take care of than just vaccines.  Our Doctors will help you determine  your individual puppy's risk so that the appropriate combination of core and non-core vaccines are given and that they are given on time.   A  physical examination, in your presence, is conducted prior to administering vaccines.  Puppies are almost always infected with intestinal parasites while nursing their mothers and a strategic deworming program needs to be followed to clear this infection.  You should bring your puppy for his or her first examination within 24 hours of obtaining them.  We want to be certain that your new friend is free from such things as fleas and ear mites and that they have not been born with potential problems such as hernias and heart murmurs.    The information on this page is designed to give you an idea of what to expect at your first few visits, the essential issues have been listed.
